In June, Opportunities, Inc. presented Officer Benjamin Boeve from the Fort Atkinson Police Department’s newly established K9 Unit and his police K9, Dino, a monetary donation in appreciation of their community service.

Safety and security are of upmost priority at Opportunities, Inc. to ensure those served have a positive and productive work environment.  When Officer Boeve sent out a letter of support for the department’s fundraising goal to obtain equipment needed for training and transportation, Opportunities, Inc. was inspired to assist with this resource in our community.

Opportunities, Inc. and the Fort Atkinson Police Department have cultivated a valued partnership over the years, stemming from the agency’s Youth Services Program nearly 30 years ago. Since then, they have collaborated on many safety awareness campaigns and trainings, including Safe Work Place Behaviors presentations, as well as, the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) program. The agency presented Officer Hefty with their annual Community Service Grant to assist in the coordination of this important youth educational program, which marked its third year in a row to receive the grant.

Another recent collaboration has been with Opportunities, Inc.’s community engagement program. Individuals with significant disabilities baked cookies and delivered them to the station in recognition of national police week.

The agency applauds the Fort Atkinson Police Department for their continued assistance in safety trainings, campaigns, and community service. And for most of all, keeping our citizens safe!
