Opportunities, Inc. will be hosting its 12th Annual Spence Jensen Classic Golf Outing at beautiful Koshkonong Mounds Country Club in Fort Atkinson on Thursday, June 5, 2014. The event will begin at 11:00 AM with lunch provided courtesy of Rocky Rococo of Whitewater and tee off at 11:30 AM. It will be 18 holes of golf in a scramble fashion; keeping it a casual time for networking and socializing.
For the past 11 years, this event has raised over $225,000 to enhance Opportunities, Inc.’s innovative training and employment programs for individuals with disabilities and other life barriers. Over 3000 people receive training and employment and life enhancement with assistance from Opportunities, Inc. on an annual basis.
In response to the needs of community businesses and workforce, Opportunities, Inc. has established another employment program focused on diversity, called Oi WORKS. Individuals who otherwise have difficulty in finding and maintaining jobs in the community due to life barriers such as language challenges, poor work history, dislocation, military service, past incarceration, recent college graduation, and AODA issues can receive personalized support and an opportunity to expand job skills through Opportunities, Inc.
Last year, Opportunities, Inc. advanced the lives of over 1000 people through the Oi WORKS program. Most importantly, this program is self-funded through Opportunities, Inc. social enterprising vision. Your support in this year’s golf outing will go directly to the advancement of the Oi WORKS program that promotes employment and empowerment initiatives that advance individuals in our community.
There will be a silent auction and raffle, along with a delicious hors d’oeuvres buffet at the reception. Opportunities, Inc. is excited to have several gold sponsors this year including Loeb-Lorman Metals, Inc., Maas Brothers Construction, Willis of Wisconsin and Armstrong Family.
There are currently over 25 teams ready to tee off, with registration continuing through the end of May. For further details and materials, contact Jason Frey or Robin Kennedy at 920-563-2437.
