Opportunities, Inc. is proud to recognize Standard Process Inc., whole food supplement manufacturer located in Palmyra, Wis., as a supportive employer for individuals with disabilities and other life barriers. 

Standard Process began partnering with the nonprofit a few years ago and has already shown great commitment and support in providing work options for local students.

Last fall, an Opportunities, Inc. Transition Program student was looking to gain work skills at a local business. Standard Process not only provided him a successful work experience in their shipping department, they also hired him on and he has been doing very well ever since. Standard Process has gone above and beyond by even providing disability awareness training for their co-workers and managers. 

“Community outreach is very important to Standard Process, and our partnership with Opportunities, Inc. has been a rewarding experience. Our employees and the students participating in this program have learned from each other and we have seen this experience have a positive impact on employee morale,” said Maria Gonzalez, Standard Process human resources representative. Human Resource Manager Jackie Prey added, “It’s been great teambuilding, too.”

Gonzalez stated, “Being able to find permanent placement for local students while filling a need in our shipping department is beneficial for both organizations.” 

Opportunities, Inc. admires Standard Process’ commitment to diversify its work force and acknowledge the important value in expanding work options for people with disabilities. Standard Process shows great dedication to its employees and the local community. Opportunities, Inc. presented Standard Process with an Employer Recognition Award on October 22, 2013 to formally recognize this exemplary business partnership.
