Opportunities, Inc., a community rehabilitation program that provides job training and placement programs for individuals with barriers to employment in southeastern Wisconsin, was recently recognized by the Office of the Secretary of Defense as a Patriotic Employer.
The nonprofit agency received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve certificate for “contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force.” Opportunities, Inc. staff member and Wisconsin Army National Guard, Lisa Schwartz, presented Opportunities, Inc.’s President, Barb LeDuc, with the award on behalf of the National Guard and Reserve.
For nearly 50 years, Opportunities, Inc. has provided comprehensive vocational training and employment services for individuals with barriers, to include those with disabilities, AODA issues, limited work experience, language challenges, employment dislocation, re-entry and veterans. They have employed numerous veterans and members of the Reserve Forces from all branches of the military and are honored for the recognition.
